Man hit with metal bat in the Bronx: NYPD

FORDHAM, The Bronx (PIX11) — A man is in critical condition after being hit by a metal bat in the middle of a busy sidewalk, police say.

The incident happened along Fordham Road in the Bronx Thursday evening just before 8 p.m., according to authorities.

Police say the man was walking from a nearby subway station when he got into an argument with another man in the area.

The argument escalated and led to the man getting assaulted, officials report. CitizenApp video from the scene shows him sprawled out on the sidewalk in blood before he’s picked up by EMS.

Police are looking for a man last seen wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt.
