10-year-old girl dies after falling from window in the Bronx: NYPD

EAST TREMONT, the Bronx (PIX11) — A 10-year-old girl died after an apparent fall from a building window in the Bronx, police said.

Officers were called to the scene at 2157 Southern Blvd. in East Tremont around 8:44 p.m. Thursday.

The child had injuries indicating a fall from a high elevation, according to officials. She was taken by private means to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The city medical examiner will determine the child’s cause of death.

Sources told PIX11 News on Friday that the child’s mother was not home at the time, but it was not immediately clear who, if anyone, might have been with her.
