    Man accused of trying to rape woman on Manhattan street: NYPD

    LOWER MANHATTAN (PIX11) – A woman was shoved to the ground and nearly raped on a Manhattan street over the weekend, police said Monday.

    The 29-year-old victim was walking near Joseph P. Ward Street and Washington Street in Lower Manhattan around 1:25 a.m. on Sunday when she was attacked, according to the NYPD. The man ran off, and the victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

    No arrests have been made. Police on Monday released a surveillance image of the suspect.
