    12 injured in Brooklyn fire, lithium-ion battery on scene: FDNY

    GOWANUS, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A fire broke out at a Gowanus residence Tuesday morning, injuring 12 people, according to the FDNY.

    The fire broke out just after 7 a.m. on 15th Street between Third and Fourth Avenues, according to officials. It was controlled by 7:58 a.m.

    Three people were sent to area hospitals with injuries, according to the FDNY.

    Officials found a lithium-ion battery near the fire, but the cause of the blaze was still unknown, according to the FDNY.
