    Man abandons car after shooting boy, 17, on Staten Island: NYPD

    STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) – A 17-year-old boy was shot in Staten Island on Tuesday, according to the NYPD.

    It happened on Bowen Street around 5 p.m. The teen was shot in the leg and taken to a local hospital by EMS, police said.

    The suspect, a man last seen wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, fled the scene in a blue Hyundai, according to authorities. The car was later found abandoned, police said.

    Police did not confirm if the car was stolen.
