Dirty bathroom? Metro-North riders can now report issues

NEW YORK (PIX11) — Have you ever taken a train on the Metro-North Railroad and stumbled across a dirty or smelly bathroom?

Starting Monday, the MTA is launching a pilot program that will allow customers to notify the railroad in real time about a station or train car restroom in need of additional cleaning.

Posters unique to each station and train car will be posted inside the bathrooms. The posters will have a QR code that customers can scan, allowing them to submit a quick survey about the condition of the bathroom.

“Creating a superior customer experience is a priority at Metro-North,” said Metro-North Railroad President Catherine Rinaldi. “This pilot program gives our customers the opportunity to inform us, in real-time, if there’s a problem with a bathroom and allows our employees to resolve it as quickly as possible.”

Customers can submit photos and additional comments about issues, including bad odor, toilets, sinks, floors, or walls that need cleaning, or if the restroom is out of toilet paper, towels, or soap.

The program will be available at select stations and train cars on the New Haven, Hudson, and Harlem branches.
