    Man accused of stealing $250,000 in cash from car in Queens: NYPD

    EAST ELMHURST, Queens (PIX11) – A man is accused of stealing $250,000 in cash from a car in Queens back on June 6, according to the NYPD.

    It happened in front of the New York LaGuardia Airport Marriott around 6 p.m. Gianni Cardona, 26, and another suspect are accused of approaching a 41-year-old man with a gun, police said.

    One of the suspects allegedly held the victim at gunpoint while the other searched the victim’s car, according to authorities. The suspects are accused of stealing $250,000 before fleeing the scene in a gray Mercedes.

    Cardona, of Yonkers, was arrested on Monday and charged with robbery in connection to the incident, police said.

    The victim was not injured, according to authorities. It’s not known if the other suspect was taken into custody.
