    NJ Transit, Amtrak delays due to report of train derailment near Penn Station

    NEW YORK (PIX11) — NJ Transit and Amtrak trains traveling in and out of New York’s Penn Station are experiencing delays due to a derailment south of the station, according to Amtrak .

    Train 144 derailed while departing from the station around 2 p.m., Amtrak said. Part of the train was still at the platform, so customers could depart from the train.

    NJ Transit said delays should be no more than 30 minutes. For updated train schedules, visit the NJ Transit and Amtrak websites.
