Sample bagels from around the world at NYC’s BagelFest

FLUSHING, Queens (PIX11) — An all you can eat bagel festival is coming to the country’s bagel capital.

BagelFest will return for its fifth year at Citi Field in Queens on Saturday Sept. 28th. More than 50 bagel artisans from around the world will gather at the stadium to showcase the best of the breakfast staple.

Festival goers are invited to come hungry as each ticket to this event will include tastings and drinks from more than 30 exhibitors.

New Yorkers will recognize some local favorites like Zucker’s Bagel and Smoked Fish, Ess-a-Bagel, Brooklyn Boy Bagels, and Peter Pan Donut and Pastry Shop.

Expert bakers will also learn how to up their bagel game through workshops that give tips on techniques, best ingredients, business strategies, and using social media to drive growth.

In between chews, visitors can also learn more about the history behind the Polish-original bread through an NYC bagel walking tour and baking classes.

The festival tops off with a Bagel Rolling Championship and the crowning of the “Best Bagel” award.

BagelFest expands to Queens this year after originating in Bushwick, Brooklyn by founder Sam Silverman in 2019. What started out as a gathering of 300 five years ago has since grown into an industry and bagel lovers favorite with more than 1500 attendees.
