NYC affordable housing building next to waterfront promenade

GOWANUS, Brooklyn (PIX11) – An affordable housing lottery is open for a building in Brooklyn located next to a waterfront promenade, according to its listing.

The affordable housing lottery is for the 420 Carroll Street Apartments in the Gowanus neighborhood.

“It is comprised of two buildings located along the Gowanus Canal where residents can enjoy a waterfront promenade along with thoughtfully designed apartment interiors that include in-unit washer/dryers, dishwasher, high-end appliances, high-end countertops, finishes, and hardwood floors as well as smart controls for heating & cooling,” the building’s listing states.

The building offers 90 affordable units, including studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom apartments.

It also has a doorman, an on-site resident manager, a gym, a business center and a rooftop terrace.

The property is listed on the NYC Housing Connect website, an online portal where people can find and apply for affordable housing opportunities in New York City.

Applications for the 420 Carroll Street Apartments will remain open until Oct. 28. The eligible income range is $31,200 to $192,600.

Rent ranges from as low as $784 a month for a studio for a single person who makes up to $43,480 a year to $3,174 a month for a three-bedroom apartment for a family of seven making up to $192,600 a year.
