“Veterans and first responders, some who are homeless, with service or companion animals need special attention to ensure that they can access services,” a spokesperson for Paws of War said. Paws of War helps veterans gain housing with their dogs and will also foster dogs when veterans are receiving care and support.”

The new 2,000-square-foot center will provide a new space for those struggling with PTSD, mental health crises, addiction, and homelessness.

The new center will also accommodate their companion and service animals, and it will include workstations, offices, a therapy area, and client meeting rooms.

Since its founding, Paws of War has rescued hundreds of dogs and cats. For more information on getting a service dog or a companion animal, go here .
