Police pursue man, teen after gunpoint carjacking on Staten Island: NYPD

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (PIX11) – Police officers pursued a man and a teenager after a white 2021 Porsche SUV was stolen at gunpoint on Staten Island on Tuesday, according to the NYPD.

It happened near Oakland Avenue around 11 p.m. Officers spotted the stolen car near Broadway and Richmond Terrace, where a pursuit kicked off, police said.

The stolen car crashed into a stop sign and came to a stop on Beverly Avenue, according to authorities. The front of the car was damaged, according to a video posted to Citizen App .

The driver, a 25-year-old man, and a 17-year-old boy both jumped out of the car and fled the scene, police said.

The teenager was taken into custody near Clove Road and Glenwood Avenue, according to authorities. The man was taken into custody on Cheshire Place.

The man injured his shoulder and back after jumping over a fence, police said. A firearm was recovered by police.

The NYPD is also searching for a white Dodge Ram pickup truck with two men inside. Police believe the men are connected to the suspects who stole the Porsche.
