Admissions open for middle, high school students in NYC for 2025 school year

NEW YORK (PIX11) – You can officially enroll your student in a New York City middle or high school starting Wednesday.

Admission applications for high school students opened back on Oct. 1. Middle school admissions began on Oct. 9.

Parents can enroll their children for school on the MySchools website . You’ll also be able to check out public schools and programs around the Big Apple.

For middle school students, you should apply when your child is in fifth grade, according to the Department of Education. For high school students, you should apply when your child is in either eighth or ninth grade.

Applications for high school admissions close on Dec. 4. You’ll receive offer letters starting on March 6, 2025.

Middle school applications close on Dec. 13 and offer letters will be sent out on April 9, 2025.
