Donald Trump to hold rally at MSG ahead of 2024 election: Campaign

NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) – Former President Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally at Madison Square Garden in October, according to a Trump Campaign official.

The rally is set for Oct. 27, the New York Post reported.

In September, Trump held a rally on Long Island that drew tens of thousands of supporters. It was his first rally held since an apparent second assassination attempt at his Florida golf club, prompting massive security efforts in Nassau County.

Little is known about Trump’s Madison Square Garden appearance and how New York City officials will prepare. Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal, who represents the area around Madison Square Garden, said the decision to allow Trump at Madison Square Garden is “disastrous.”

“This is a disastrous decision by Madison Square Garden that will endanger the public safety of New Yorkers and has the potential to incite widespread violence,” Hoylman-Sigal said in a post to X . “For the good of NYC and its residents, I demand The Garden keep our city safe by canceling the Trump rally.”

Trump visited New York City in May with a rally in South Bronx, where he was met by protesters.

Shortly after the rally, Trump canceled an appearance at a Williamsburg eatery after the owner of the restaurant died, according to reports.

The election is fast approaching in New York, and the deadline to register to vote is on Oct. 15 .
