SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. (PIX11) – A New York man is accused of having enough fentanyl to “kill every man, woman, and child on Long Island,” Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney announced on Friday.

On Wednesday, the suspect, 43-year-old Remon Gibson, was charged with a slew of charges regarding a drug bust that took place back in September.

“The amount of deadly narcotics seized in this operation is staggering,” Tierney said when commenting on the indictment of the suspect. “This case underscores our unwavering commitment to dismantling drug operations that threaten our communities.”

During the drug bust, law enforcement searched a residence at 5 Sunburnt Lane in Bellport, New York, where Gibson lived, authorities said. Law enforcement found a large quantity of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Fentanyl was found on the suspect’s nightstand just steps from where his minor children slept, officials said.

Ultimately, police uncovered seven kilograms of fentanyl, eight kilograms of cocaine, and half a kilogram of xylazine, along with $80,000 in cash and a kilo press.

Gibson is facing the following charges:

    • One count of operating as a major trafficker
    • Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree
    • Two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree
    • Three counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia
    • Two counts of endangering the welfare of a child

If convicted of the charges, Gibson faces up to 15 years in prison, authorities said.
