NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – The National Weather Service is warning New Jersey residents of dry conditions on Friday – which could cause possible wildfires to grow and spread easily.

A special weather statement was issued for parts of the state. Relative humidity levels are also expected to fall to 20 to 25%.

The humidity, along with potential gusts up to 20 mph, temperatures near 70 degrees and sunshine, could make a wildfire much more difficult to control, according to the NWS.

Residents should avoid burning anything outdoors.

The New York City area is under a coastal flood advisory due to the supermoon, which is bringing higher tides to the shore, the NWS said.
