Teen among 2 arrested in fatal shooting in Bronx NYCHA building

MELROSE, the Bronx (PIX11) — A teen is one of two people accused of fatally shooting a man in the neck in the hallway of a Bronx NYCHA building on Wednesday, police said.

The 15-year-old boy and Francisco Deleon, 23, were arrested and charged Thursday with murder in the death of  Ali Flores , 26, according to the NYPD.

Flores was shot and killed in the Saint Mary’s Park Houses on Westchester Avenue in Melrose at around 8: 30 a.m., police said. He was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.

A witness called 911 after seeing a group fighting and shooting at each other in the building’s hallway, authorities said. Police said multiple people were taken into custody at the scene but only two people have been charged.

It was unclear what prompted the shooting.
