Troop Appreciation Foundation Honors Wounded Warriors with a Fishing Derby

    2024-06-11

The Troop Appreciation Foundation (TAF) will be taking 50+ Wounded Warriors for a fishing adventure this Thursday, June 13, 2024, on Lake Murray. The sixth annual event, provides a free day of striper fishing, awards for big fish and a lunch served at the Lake Murray Sailing Club.

TAF Organizer Mike Glover said, " We want to recognize and thank men and women that served in the military for their sacrifice for country."

The Troop Appreciation Foundation was recently given an Angel Award by the South Carolina Secretary of State Mark Hammond. The Secretary of State annually selects organizations that represent some of the most efficient and effective charities in South Carolina. The Troop Appreciation Foundation was one of twelve Angels selected in 2023.

The TAF will also be conducting a fishing rodeo for First Responders (EMS and Law Enforcement) later this summer and sponsoring travel grants for military personnel coming home for the Holidays this winter.
