Meet a Smidgeon of Pigeon at SCSM Accessibility Morning

    2024-08-07

The South Carolina State Museum (SCSM) invites the public to attend Accessibility Morning activities on Saturday, July 10 from 9 am-11 am and meet the title character from the Smidgeon of Pigeon series children's books by Mo Willems. This inclusive event provides FREE general admission to guests who are neurodiverse or have other disabilities, so they can experience the museum’s exhibitions at their own pace and enjoy other special activities.

"ASL Interpretation will be provided by the SC School for the Deaf and Blind as noted in the schedule," Museum Program Manager Laura Kane said, "The museum also has several other accessibility tools available - just ask an educator upon arrival!"

The event is free, and guests are encouraged to pre-register as the FREE 9:45 am show tickets can only be reserved on-site the day of the event. There is no age limit and participants are not required to do not have to attend all the activities. Guests are welcome to simply come and enjoy the museum.
