A family of five is without a home after an early morning house fire in Moosup on Sunday.

The Moosup Fire Department reported on its Facebook page at 7:08 a.m. Sunday that they were at a structure fire at 10 Cottage St. in Moosup.

A GoFundMe has been established to raise money for the family. As of Monday afternoon, it had raised over $7,000 towards the $25,000 goal.

“Their house, cars and everything surrounding is a total loss,” read a statement on the GoFundMe page. “They have to start from the ground up, needing everything from furnishings, clothes, car seats, diapers, dog food for their three dogs, everything. Any donations would be greatly appreciated during this difficult and devastating time.”

The American Red Cross is assisting the family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Plainfield Fire Marshal’s Office.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
