Vacant Plainfield Building that Burned on Monday was Demolished Tuesday; See How it Looks

PLAINFIELD, NJ — Early Monday morning, the Plainfield Police responded to a fire at a vacant property at 401 East 3rd Street on the East End of Plainfield. No injuries were reported, and by late Monday morning the Fire Department was completing what it called a "search and overhaul" to ensure the safety of the building and to assess future hazards.

On Tuesday, residents of the area reported to TAPinto Plainfield that the building was being demolished throughout the day. As of Wednesday morning, most of the building had been knocked down. See photos of the wreckage taken early Tuesday morning below or in the carousel above.
