City of Plainfield Announces 2024 National Night Out

PLAINFIELD, NJ — National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, and it takes place on the first Tuesday in August. This year, it falls on August 6. The City of Plainfield's recognition of National Night Out will take place at Black Lives Matter Plaza, right in front of City Hall, starting at 6pm.

National Night Out in Plainfield was started by former Councilwoman Elizabeth Urquhart back in 1988—when it included a march—and has been held every year since then except for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

National Night Out in Plainfield will feature a bouncy house, face painting, a balloon artist, and music. It is a chance to meet your neighbors, law enforcement officers, and city leaders.

Black Lives Matter Plaza is located at 515 Watchung Avenue.
