New York State DEC Says Man Tried to Escape Custody Using Rideshare
Ridesharing was once referred to as the "future of public transport", as companies such as Uber, Lyft, and others allow riders to use mobile apps to request rides from nearby drivers. This can help provide quick and easy transportation, while removing some of the excess congestion on our roads. Attempting...
The True Story of the Amityville Horror
Since 1977, a lake house in Amityville, New York, has been the subject of multiple books, television programs, and almost 15 movies. However, the real story of the "Amityville Horror" is rarely told in the films, which focus more on a fiction based around the Lutz family and their alleged haunting. One of the most interesting facts about the Amityville case is that the hauntings have been debunked numerous times. The defense lawyer who initially represented mass murderer Ronald Defeo, Jr. has stated in multiple court documents that the entire haunting was a hoax. Still, the mythology of the Amityville home lives on.

Review: NEXT TO NORMAL at CAP Merrick
Prior to Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey’s NEXT TO NORMAL, few musicals covered the topic of grieving a child, and none covered the topic of bipolar disorder. Directed by Tony Frangipane, the production is meticulously done, and every acting choice is specific and in the moment, one of many trademarks of a Frangipane directed piece. Serving as Assistant Directors and Co-Stage Managers, Diane Marmann and Jared Glazer take equal care to ensure that this story is given a proper time in the light. NEXT TO NORMAL has a deceitfully difficult score, with many of the actors singing background vocals if they’re not leading the number. Under the baton of Musical Director Shiloh Bennett, the cast has a sound that rivals the original Broadway production, a trademark of any musical with Bennett at the helm. The lighting, co-designed by Tony Frangipane and Joshua Amy, the environment is clearly established, and it flourishes with each passing moment, leaving the audience enveloped in the shows universe by the end.
