Sound Bites: Sailfest returns for 45th year
Good morning — At least 200,000 people were estimated to attend Sailfest — the largest maritime summer event in southeastern Connecticut — over the weekend. The two-day event, which turned 45 this year, drew visitors from across Connecticut and the surrounding New England states for more than 200 street vendors, offering food, arts and crafts and the region’s largest fireworks display.
VIP Tires & Service, Joe’s Tire Shop launch customer appreciation promotions
Joe’s Tire Shop and VIP Tires & Service hosted a customer appreciation event on July 10 in Waterbury, Connecticut. The event marked the start of promotions running through Aug. 21. The promotions include $50 off any service costing more than $100 and “Oil Changes for Education,” where all proceeds from Valvoline oil changes, priced at $10, will be donated to Waterbury Public Schools. Diesel oil changes are not included in the promotion.
