(It’s a debate every Central New Yorker has had at some point: Who’s got the best pizza? This year, we’ll do our best to find out. I’m on a quest to find the best pizza shops in the Syracuse area. Throughout 2024, I’ll visit 50-plus pizzerias. At each, I’ll sample their most popular pizza, or whatever they recommend. As I go, I’ll score each one, and tell readers a little bit about the shop itself.)

If so, come on over to the shelter and ask to see me - I wheel-y want to meet you!

Syracuse band Grateful for Biggie may be the weirdest mashup ever
Scott Mervis, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (TNS) It’s highly unlikely that Jerry Garcia could have told you who Biggie Smalls was, and vice versa. That’s how far removed the late Grateful Dead guitarist and vocalist was from the style of Brooklyn gangsta rap that Biggie Smalls (real name Christopher Wallace, a.k.a. Notorious B.I.G.) epitomized in the 1990s. But a band from Syracuse has found a way to blend the disparate musical franchises.

Make America 'Grease' Again: Covey Theater’s 'Grease' revives the musical’s working-class origins (review)
How nostalgic are you about Syracuse circa 2011? Have you ever said, “Those were the days”? Hold onto that thought as we look at the musical “Grease.”. Only thirteen years separate 1958 — the setting for “Grease” — from the show’s 1971 Chicago opening. Its ten high school kids — working class, Polish, Italian — were so raunchy, the original production had an R-rating.
