Illinois man sentenced for killing wife in front of children weeks after she filed for divorce
KANE COUNTY, Ill. (TCN) -- A 48-year-old man has been sentenced to natural life in prison without parole for fatally shooting his wife, who had recorded the encounter. Kane County State’s Attorney Jamie Mosser announced July 19 that a judge sentenced Timothy Gordon to 50 years in prison for the first-degree murder of his wife, Yahaira Gordon. Mosser said Timothy Gordon faced an additional 25 years to natural life without parole because he used a firearm to carry out the killing. Gordon pleaded guilty in January.

DuPage County recently announced their Veterans Resource Fair, which will be held Wednesday, August 21, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the first floor auditorium of the JTK Administration Building at 421 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton. The event, which is hosted by the DuPage County Recorder and the Veterans Assistance Commission of DuPage County, invites veterans and their families to attend. More than 80 service agencies and community organizations will be in attendance to offer information and assistance to veterans.
