Boasting more than 175 locations nationwide, Las Vegas -based sandwich chain Capriotti’s Sandwich Shops is preparing to expand its South Florida footprint with a new location in Plantation . The new Capriotti’s will launch in the Market on University shopping center at 1023 S University Dr .

“Founded in 1976 in Wilmington, Delaware by siblings Lois and Alan Margolet, Capriotti’s was born from a desire to create something unique while honoring family heritage,” says the Capriotti’s website . “To this day the whole roast turkeys, quality meats & cheeses, and fresh rolls and produce continue to impress our patrons and earn awards across the country.”

Capriotti’s serves subs like the Capastrami ( hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and coleslaw ), the American Wagyu Cheese Steak ( ultra premium American Wagyu beef from Snake River Farms, melted white American cheese, fried onions, and hot or sweet peppers ), and the Bobbie ( homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo ). The chain’s sandwiches include Homemade Turkey and Homemade Tuna.

What Now reached out to Marco Roca , CEO of Reveille Hospitality , who is behind the Plantation location. Roca was not immediately available for comment on the Capriotti’s rollout.
