Central Alabama first responders return from helping with hurricane flooding; others prep for storms
MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. — A local nonprofit is preparing volunteers as hurricane season starts and the need for aid after a natural disaster increases. The American Red Cross trained more volunteers on Saturday to give them the tools they need to help in disaster zones. It comes as first responders from fire departments across Central Alabama came after spending a week helping out in South Carolina.

Montgomery neighborhood ramps up security measures to combat property crime
Montgomery’s escalating crime rate and police shortage forces neighborhood associations to figure out their own solutions to prevent thieves with guns from burglarizing cars and homes.
