MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Governor Kay Ivey this week made appointments to the newly established Alabama Workforce Board and its Executive Committee. Ivey’s office said this marks a major milestone in the implementation of the Working for Alabama legislative package, which Governor Ivey championed and signed into law earlier this year. “The Alabama Workforce Transformation Act, a key part of the package, created the Board and Executive Committee as part of the framework for Governor Ivey’s overhaul of the state’s workforce development initiatives,” said a release. Poarch Creek Receive $725k Grant for EV Charging
ATMORE, AL – Governor Kay Ivey recently awarded more than $725,000 to the Poarch Creek Indians to install two duo-port electric chargers at Creek Travel Plaza, located at 4740 Jack Springs Road, near Interstate 65. This grant is among 14 others that were awarded by the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA) in an effort to ensure the state is ready to accommodate electric vehicles as they continue to increase along Alabama roads.
