SALEM — Keaton Gale and Ty Trometer drove in three runs apiece as Elk Point/Jefferson topped Parkston in the second round of the State B tournament Saturday. Gale batted 1-for-3 with three RBIs, Trometer drove in three runs on two hits including a double, while Kayden Moore, Ethan Bovill, Brody Van Roekel, and Jacob Gale each had a hit and an RBI in the win.

Harrisburg School District to host 'Teaching About the Holocaust Symposium'
The Harrisburg School District is holding a “Teaching About the Holocaust Symposium” this Tuesday to enhance educators’ understanding and teaching of Holocaust history. The district was approached by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Minnesota and the Dakotas about hosting the event, and it’s the first site in North or South Dakota to hold such an event in conjunction with the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Council, district communications director JoAnne VerMulm said. ...

SDSU Extension 4-H awards 2024 scholarships
South Dakota State University Extension is pleased to announce the winners of its 2024 4-H state-level scholarships. Fourteen youth from across the state were selected to receive these awards. Youth with at least five years of active membership in 4-H, current high school seniors, or those enrolled at SDSU are eligible to apply for the scholarships. These scholarships are funded through donors and SDSU Extension’s 4-H program.

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- At this Monday’s City Council, the Aberdeen City Council will address the BID tax ordinance that was discussed almost three weeks ago. “Possible first reading of an ordinance amending the BID tax rate and to approve the first reading of Ordinance No. 24-07-01, Amending Aberdeen City Code, Sec. 50-43 to increase the rate of levy of the downtown BID general occupation tax, to thereafter allow for changes in the rate of levy of the occupation tax by resolution, and to clarify the exemption from the tax of certain uses of real property.”
