Two Redlin originals donated to the Terry Redlin Art Center
WATERTOWN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Thanks to the generosity of an Arizona couple, two Terry Redlin original oil paintings have found their way “home.”. The pieces “The Master’s Domain” and “On the Alert” will now be displayed at the Terry Redlin Art Center in Watertown, which opened in 1997 to display the works of the Watertown artist.

Care Campus makes changes in how they help Pennington County community
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - The Care Campus is re-organizing to better tackle the issues facing the community. The Campus, led by the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, is adding more detox beds and reducing the number of safe beds. The detox beds are used for people who are intoxicated to sober up while avoiding using the jails, while the safe beds are places for people to get out of the elements and rest.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally impacts Downtown Rapid City parking
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Those planning on heading to Downtown Rapid City in the next week should be aware of the new parking changes impacted by the Sturgis Rally. Beginning last Friday, several parking spaces near Saint Joseph Street and Sixth Street have been blocked off for motorcycle-only parking. Four spaces are coned off in front of the Hotel Alex Johnson with an additional three spaces next to Prairie Edge Trading Post reserved through Sunday, August 11.

All eyes on Sturgis! Highlights from Rally Week Day One
STURGIS, S.D. – Today was the first day of the 84th annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Nearly half a million people are expected to travel through the Black Hills this week. Vendors and exhibits are popping up all over Sturgis, offering food, drinks, biker history, and even some test rides. Kole Balon of Indian Motorcycle, the first Motorcycle Company in the United States, had this to say about Rally Week Day One:

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — It’s the first full day of the Sioux Empire Fair at the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls. Activities include an open-class swine show at 10 a.m., carnival rides starting at noon, an open-class sheep show at 3 p.m., an open-class goat show at 5 p.m. The grandstand entertainment features The Fury with special guest Kory & the Fireflies at 7:30 p.m. Fair admission is $10, $5 for children and free for ages 5 and under. The grandstand show is free with a paid admission. The fair runs daily through August 10th.
