St. Joseph Christian School's 7th annual car show fundraiser
(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The St. Joseph Christian School Fine Arts Boosters hosted their 7th annual Car, Truck, and Bike show at the Frederick Boulevard Church, including some sweet rides, games, and awards for different vehicles, with all funds raised going towards their fine arts department. "It's a fundraiser to help support our fine arts. So our band, our choir, our drama club and our art department. This allows us to buy extra supplies that we might need. We've bought a trailer with some of our supplies, sound systems, instruments that we need for band." Said Margaret Baker, a member of the SJCS Fine Arts Committee. Over the years, the show's outreach has only grown, with over 100 cars signing up for the competition this year. "Right now we have about 54 cars in the parking lot, and expecting more to pull in as we keep going through the day." Continued Baker. Included in the event was the car/bike/truck show, games, raffle, and awards to several categories, such as best of show, people's choice, and longest haul.

Kansas City officials say that on Saturday, Aug. 24, members of a voting collective were dispatched to local community centers to make voting more accessible than ever, thanks to an initiative from Mayor Pro Tem Ryana Parks, the Greater Kansas City National Pan-Hellenic Council, the City of Kansas City, Mo., and KC Parks Community Centers.
