AMES, Iowa — Sondra Wilson claims that the state denied her Medicaid coverage for her gender reassignment surgery. Wilson doesn’t have a law degree, but is representing herself in this case. She said she reached out to about 50 different law firms across the state and couldn’t afford any of the quotes she was given.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Spotty showers and some patchy drizzle continued across the area this afternoon, though rainfall has remained light and most areas have stayed dry. A few scattered storms popped up near Norfolk and Columbus with some heavier downpours. Those storms will drift to the south and west, staying well to the west of the Omaha metro. The downpours may continue through 7pm or so around Norfolk and Columbus. Otherwise, calm winds with temperatures in the low 70s and upper 60s will stick around for the evening hours.

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - A sinkhole large enough to swallow a car opened up in Omaha Friday, closing off roads and reportedly putting people in danger. The sinkhole is located near 57th and Pratt streets, in north-central Omaha, not too far away from another large sinkhole near 33rd and Cass streets in Midtown.

Sutton Community Home raises $1 million for renovations
SUTTON, Neb. (KSNB) - The Sutton Community Home held a groundbreaking ceremony for their addition and renovations project on Friday. The nursing home has been operating and assisting residents of the area for 60 years and has not changed since opening back in 1964. McCook Aquatic Park is now open
The McCook Aquatic Park held their grand opening Wednesday. The park is a great addition to the community that has gone without an outdoor pool for the last two summers. The aquatic center was a decade-long effort with the pool committee beginning the process in 2015. Many kids have been long awaiting the grand opening, including fifth graders, Anthony Clapp and Grady Pohl.
