A cluster of wildfires that started Monday has prompted evacuations in Plumas County’s resort area. The Gold Complex — the Smith fire and three fires called Mill — was started by dry lightning strikes around 2:45 p.m. Monday. On Tuesday morning, the combined total was about 1,700 acres.
