Police: Man crashes stolen truck in Auburn, takes down utility pole and power lines
AUBURN (WGME) -- Police say a man driving a stolen utility truck crashed in Auburn on Tuesday, taking down a utility pole and power lines. According to police, 32-year-old Ryan Buckingham was driving a stolen Ford F350 utility truck around 10:15 p.m. near 930 Center Street when he crashed, causing the vehicle to rollover and take down a utility pole and power lines. The power lines were blocking all four lanes, and a Subaru Outback was entangled in the downed lines.

VAN BUREN, Maine (WAGM) - There were two soccer games today to kick off the week, the Southern Aroostook Warriors vs the Van Buren Crusaders. Today was the lady crusaders first home game in three years. For the past three years they have been a cooperative team with Wisdom High School. They have played one away game, looking for their first win of the season. Southern Aroostook struck first, but eighth grader Emily Lapierre tied it up shortly after, scoring her first high school goal ever. But it didnt’ stay that way too long, less than one minute after it was tied the warriors take the lead back. The scoring did not slow up at 2-1. That lead lasted for 27 seconds, a few passes led to a score to make it 2-2. Van Buren with back to back scores, she got the assist on the last goal, this time she takes it herself making it 3-2 Crusaders, but the Warriors didn’t want them taking the lead into the second half. At the half it was 3-3. But the Warriors scored 4 unanswered to win 7-3.

Caribou council hires local contractor to clean up Prospect Street property
CARIBOU, Maine – Caribou city councilors took action Monday to begin cleaning what many have viewed as a problem property downtown. In 2023, the city filed a lawsuit against John Barretto, the owner of a home at 15 Prospect St., for alleged safety code violations. The home burned in a fire months later, but a superior court judge in December still ordered Barretto to clear the property of debris by July 1, or else the city would remove it at his expense.
