The Plymouth Hitdawgs town ball baseball team played two midweek games last week, traveling to Elko on July 11 for a win before hosting Hopkins on July 12 in a loss.

    Elko Express

The Hitdawgs started last week in flying fashion with a 17-4 win over the Elko Express on July 11 with 20 total hits. Ian Masui led the way going 3-for-4, hitting a homerun and five RBI against Elko. Daniel Marxen hit two RBI and scored three runs, while Tom Lyman hit a home run of his own and had three RBI. On the other side of play, Adam Biewen pitched six innings and had eight strikeouts against Elko.

    Hopkins

The Hitdawgs could have used a few of those runs against the Hopkins Berries at home on July 12, The Hitdawgs lost 2-1 loss in extra innings. Jack Zupfer put in hard work during the game with eight innings pitched and 10 kills against Hopkins. The Berries, however, came out on the right side of a close battle.

The Hitdawgs will play three games the following week, hosting Minnetonka and the Minneapolis Mudcats on Tuesday, July 16, and Friday, July 19, before traveling to play the Cold Springs Springers on Sunday, July 21.
