Greater Cleveland Food Bank purchases building for new community resource center on Cleveland's west side
CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Food Bank (GCFB) took a step forward this week in expanding its footprint in Cleveland's west side. The food bank confirmed Friday it purchased a building at 9830 Lorain Ave. to be used as a new Community Resource Center as part of the third phase in its expansion project that has been in the works since 2019. The Lorain Road building will be leased to the food bank by Cuyahoga County through September 2026.

Humane Society raising funds for care as Joffrey the cat recovers at OSU
DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — The Humane Society of Greater Dayton has released another update on Joffrey, who has been fighting to recover from an arson incident. According to a post on social media, the cat is making “steady progress” at the Ohio State University Veterinary Center. Though he still has a long way to go, they have reported signs of healing.

Family members fight at healthcare facility: Bay Village Police Blotter
On July 30 officers received a call from a woman who said she had just picked up her friend from Reese Park. The woman explained that when she arrived at the park, she realized her friend had crashed her car, causing substantial damage to park property. Officers responded to her residence to speak with the driver. After an investigation, the operator/owner of the car was arrested for drunk driving and was brought back to Bay Village Police Department jail for booking. The driver submitted to a breath test, resulting in .203% blood alcohol content. The 31-year-old Cleveland resident will be facing numerous charges.
2025 3-Star DL Reveals Commitment to WVU Football Program
A 2025 recruit committed to the WVU football program late Saturday night. Defensive lineman Brandon Caesar revealed his commitment on his Instagram story. Caesar (6-foot-4, 254 pounds) attends Cleveland Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio, where he also competes on the wrestling team.
