Ronald Roy
Ronald “Ron” Eldridge Roy, Sr. 78, of Marlinton, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, in the loving arms of his son at his home. Born September 11, 1945, Ron grew up hunting and fishing alongside his father, brothers and the “mountain men” of Woodrow Mountain. At the age of 16, he met his life partner, Mary Lee, and, shortly after graduating high school, they married April 8, 1966. Ron was a 32nd degree Mason. He spent many years as a heavy equipment operator working for Ralph Beckwith, whom he considered a dear friend. Ron was a hard worker and a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He deeply believed in the importance of family, as he said “if you have common sense, work hard, and take care of your family, you will be all right.”
