Opera House to offer Summer Theater Camp
The Pocahontas Opera House will offer a week-long summer theater camp for students ages six to 14 at Stillwell Park the week of August 2 to August 7, 2021. “This year the emphasis is on fun,” camp director Charlie Maghee Hughes said. “Our Saturday performance will be a series of silly poems and skits based on the works of well-known children’s writers such as Dr. Seuss, Roald Dahl and Shel Silverstien.

Let’s play ball!
Robert Jackson, left, and John “Chipper” Williams pose in their Little League uniforms in 1958 or 1959. Robert played for the Giants, and Chipper played for the Cubs. The boys lived with their families at Brownsburg. They rode their bikes into Marlinton for practice and for games.
