    Wednesday, July 17There will be a plein air painting workshop at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Bates Boat Ramp, Bates Road in Driggs. Plein air painting refers to painting outside, in nature to capture the colors, sunlight and character of our natural surroundings. Register by going to tinyurl.com/ycxf27ev.

    The Portneuf District Library, 5210 Stuart Ave. in Chubbuck, is hosting a painted vase craft for adults ages 18 and up at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17.

    Alive After Five will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Civitan Plaza in Idaho Falls. PreDawn Flight will be live on stage.

    Revive @ 5 takes place from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays in the summer at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello. There will be live music, food, cold beverages and fun for the entire family.

    Load ‘em in the Dark Cattle Company’s regular Wednesday night team roping from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Indoor Arena at the Bannock County Event Center in Pocatello. Admission is free.

    Thursday, July 18

    Barricade, 308 E. Center St. in Pocatello, will host an “All Star” wine tasting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 18. Cost is $12 for five pours.

    Darci Carlson is scheduled to perform at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at United Way of Idaho Falls and Bonneville County, 1649 Woodruff Park Circle in Idaho Falls. Three-time Ameripolitan music nominee and 2017 Outlaw Female of The Year, Seattle’s own country queen Darci Carlson delivers a throwback, honky tonkin’, true country affair.

    Connor McLaren will perform for ISU’s Summer Concert Series at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 18, on the Frazier Hall lawn. McLaren’s psych-folk melodies intertwine with a warmth reminiscent of a well-worn denim jacket. Mixing folk rock with a love for reggae, McLaren’s stylings are music for the soul. All are welcome to attend.

    The Yellowstone Restaurant, 230 W. Bonneville St. in Pocatello, hosts live jazz featuring Freddy Gildersleeve and rotating guests every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Y Lounge.

    Station Square, 200 S. Main St. in Pocatello, hosts open mic night every Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m.

    Friday, July 19The Portneuf Library will host a Teddy Bear Picnic and Clinic at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 19. Children can bring a favorite stuffed animal to Stuart Park in Chubbuck for a free check-up with Just4Kids Urgent Care. After their stuffie check-up, kids can enjoy lunch courtesy of School District 25 and take home a free book provided by the library.

    “Origin” will be shown at 5 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 19, at ISU’s Bengal Theater. Based on the best-selling novel “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents,” a woman grappling with tremendous personal tragedy sets herself on a path of global investigation and discovery. Admission is $3 for the public, $2 for ISU staff and free for ISU students with a valid Bengal ID.

    The Idaho Falls Zoo, 2725 Carnival Way, will host Wines in the Wild from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 19. Must be 21 or older and have a valid ID.     This week’s Chubbuck Movies in the Park features “Wonka” sponsored by Citizens Community Bank, at dusk Friday, July 19, at Stuart Park, 5161 Stuart Ave. Attendees are asked to come early and bring their own chairs and/or blankets.     Friday & Saturday, July 19-20Shady Grove Music Camp will take place Friday and Saturday, July 19-20, at FMC Park northwest of Pocatello. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday and the music will last until 1 a.m. both days. Tickets cost $65 for a weekend pass with camping included, $60 for the standard weekend pass and $40 for individual day passes.     Saturday, July 20The Blackfoot Makers Market is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Paisley Cakes, 747 S. Broadway St. in Blackfoot.

    The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello.

    The Blackfoot Farmers Market will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday through October at 1800 E. Airport Road in Blackfoot.

    The Idaho Falls Garden Club will have a garden tour from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 20. Attendees can tour up to eight different gardens in Idaho Falls and Roberts. Tickets are available at Sunnyside Gardens, Town and Country Gardens, and Eagle Rock Nursery. Tickets are $10, and children are free.     The Pocatello Model Railroad and Historical Society will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, in the Union Pacific Railroad brick building 59 South of the UPRR depot, just North of the Benton Overpass. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

    Pan for gold from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at the Bannock County Historical Complex, 3000 Avenue of the Chiefs in Pocatello. Supplies will be provided and everyone will get a gold pan and a large scoop of dirt rich with gold and other fascinating minerals. You are guaranteed to find gold and cool items. Admission at the door is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $8 for kids.

    The Bannock Humane Society will host a pet food drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Ridley’s, 1000 Pocatello Creek Road in Pocatello.

    The 17th annual Tin Cup Challenge is set for 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at 155 E. Ashley in Driggs. Run with Teton Valley in the Competitive 10K/5K or Fun Run/Walk, then tour the nonprofit booths with family-friendly activities while you enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages.     Sunday, July 21Chuck Briseno is scheduled to perform at 5 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at Roadhouse Saloon,1680 Lindsay Boulevard in Idaho Falls. From an early age, Chuck had a guitar in one hand and a pen in the other, writing and performing in the small town of George West, Texas.

    Monday, July 22The Pocatello Food Truck Round-Up is open from 4 to 8 p.m. every Monday at Lookout Point through September.

    Bryan Bielanski is set to play at 7 p.m. Monday, July 22, at Servant’s Heart Entertainment, 1501 Northgate Mile in Idaho Falls. Imagine Nirvana and the Beatles had a kid together who became an acoustic rock singer/songwriter: that’s Bryan Bielanski.
