If Pocatello residents begin dreaming of golden droppings, they are not going crazy.

The highly anticipated Cupbop Korean barbeque restaurant in Pocatello is set to open its doors on July 30. The restaurant at 544 E. Benton St. will have a grand opening that morning.

There will be Cupbop gear and other merchandise on hand and all bowls will be $5.99 to celebrate the new Pocatello location.

Kevin Santiago, Cupbop franchisee and the owner of the new Pocatello restaurant, is excited about Cupbop arriving in the Gate City.

"We are excited to be in Pocatello and to serve the people of this community," Santiago said. "(Our) food is delicious and at an excellent value. Our staff is good and outgoing, and people who love food love Cupbop."

According to www.cupbop.com, Cupbop emphasizes fresh, high-quality ingredients, serving up tasty noodles, with both regular and gluten-free options.

Cupbop offers a unique take on Korean barbeque classics, served in a cup with the promise of a truly unique dining experience and the potential for dreams of golden droppings.

In Korea it is well known that when a person dreams of golden droppings they are always presented with good fortune. Hence Cupbop's favorite saying, "Eat Cupbop and poop gold."

Santiago said Idaho has been good for Cupbop.

"We have done well in Idaho Falls, Rexburg and Boise and we want to continue that success and grow our business," he said.

The Cupbop journey began on wheels in Salt Lake City. Junghun Song, the visionary founder of the first Cupbop restaurant in the United States, launched the concept as a humble food truck in 2013.

From this modest beginning, the restaurant and brand soared to new heights, a testament to Song's entrepreneurial spirit and determination.

Song and the Cupbop company currently have 46 locations in six states.

Cupbop is looking to continue its success in Pocatello. There are already a dozen Cupbop locations in Idaho including one each in Rexburg and Idaho Falls and several in Boise.

With its unique food, energetic staff and golden dropping dreams, Cupbop promises to be a hot commodity in Pocatello.
