Poinsett County Quorum Court to discuss bridge replacements, property purchase, more
HARRISBURG — The Poinsett County Quorum Court will consider several resolutions to spend federal money for bridge replacement projects at its meeting Monday night. Justices will consider resolutions to replace the L’Anguille River Bridge on Weiner Cutoff Road; the Cache River Bridge on Pitts Road; the Bayou De View Bridge on Mac Road, the Flag Slough Ditch Bridge on Malcolm Road, the Hydrick Creek Bridge on Barnes Lane, and the Mulligan Lateral Bridge on Senteney Road.

JONESBORO — A Poinsett County man is set to be arraigned Aug. 23 after a crash led to a woman being airlifted to a Memphis hospital, according to court records. Mario C. HARRISBURG — An old restaurant building in Harrisburg may soon become the new home of the Poinsett County Emergency 911 Center. The Poinsett County Building and Finance committees met Monday to discuss a plan to turn the old Sweet South building on Jackson Avenue into the offices for 911. The committees gave the go-ahead for the project, setting up a quorum court vote July 8 in Harrisburg.
AG: Lepanto woman used child to commit Medicaid fraud
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin announced Thursday the arrest of a Lepanto woman accused of bilking more than $9,500 from Medicaid. Kaylee Slaughter, 25, was arrested on June 5 in Poinsett County and arraigned the following day in Little Rock on one count of Medicaid fraud, a Class B felony. She’s currently free on a recognizance bond.
