A Look Back at the Beginnings of KRTU From One of Its Founders
Just like Trinity University, KRTU has lived by the value of enduring excellence, long before it even made its first broadcast on January 23, 1976. Jim Blakemore '77, one of the founders of KRTU, made his way to the Department of Communication after dabbling in business and computer science. Blakemore had been a photographer in high school for the yearbook and newspaper, and looking to continue with photography, he discovered that it was housed in the communication department. He found a home there when he discovered its impressive supply of the latest technology.
Corrine Wahle
The world lost a beloved mother, Corrine Wahle, on July 21, 2024. Born on August 13, 1942, Corrine’s unexpected passing is a testament to life’s unpredictability. Corrine was a fiercely independent person who played many roles in her lifetime, wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Corrine’s good humor and generous spirit touched everyone that she met.
Antonio Pescina
Antonio Pescina was born in Mexico on July 6, 1956, to parents, Tomas Pescina and Petra Narvaez. He passed away in Kingwood, Texas on July 21, 2024, at the age of 68. Antonio worked for many years as a welder, construction worker, and automotive mechanic. Antonio and his wife Benita owned El Regio Mexican Restaurant in Cleveland, Texas from 1997-2002. His greatest love in life was his family, and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Next steps taken for water service
TRINITY — The city of Trinity will now seek contractors to begin work on improvements to the city’s water system. City Manager Tim King said that at the Thursday City Council meeting, the council approved seeking bids for work to replace a water storage tank at the city well site, as well as building a new water tower and installing backup generators.
