Lovelady Lions Visit Washington D.C.
LOVELADY – A group of Lovelady Lion junior high students, along with parents and teachers were able to visit Washington D.C., thanks to a group which helps organize and finance the trip. The kids crisscrossed the capital, getting to take in the history, monuments and even the solemn majesty of Arlington National Cemetery.

Family member dies from gunshot
A July 20 family disturbance in the 3700 block of FM 3459 in Onalaska resulted in the death of a family member. The Polk County Sheriff ’s Office responded to the scene to discover Gerald Fields, 56, of Onalaska, deceased. Witnesses reported that a disturbance occurred between two family members resulting in one dying from a single gunshot.

CLEVELAND, TX – Patrick Daniel just keeps winning with the Southern States Modified Series. On Saturday night, Daniel made it four in a row at 105 Speedway. AMS Racing Pole Award winner Anthony Meek got the hole shot and pulled away to lead the opening lap with Richard Holt and series points leader Patrik Daniel in hot pursuit. Farmer Dies in Suspected Killer Bee Attack Near Huntsville, Texas
Bryce Harold Smith, 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, after being stung by numerous bees. The attack happened on the man's property just south of Bedias, Texas. According to a report from KCTV-5, Smith was stung approximately 60 times around the face and neck area. The lifelong resident of Bedias was clearing trees with a bulldozer when he apparently came into contact with the hive.
