Liberty State Park’s Uncertain Future
Jersey Cityans have had roughly a decade to see their home vastly change. High rises, trendy markets, and the occasional quirky coffee shop are just some of what would have been impossible to even conceive of just a few years ago. As the city’s profile continues to grow, so too has the average person’s inability to keep up with Jersey City’s cost of living. Therefore, it is no wonder that despite the renaissance, many are demanding that the brakes on commercialization be pulled on a very public issue – Liberty State Park’s (LSP) Revitalization Program.

Now, after ten incredible years, it feels right to conclude this journey with my 150th lifetime show at the Garden.” On Thursday night, Joel was joined by a special guest in Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose, who performed three songs with Joel including the Wings’ hit “Live And Let Die,” AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell,” and Joel’s “You May Be Right.” Fan-filmed footage of Axl with Joel can be seen below. But it’s likely too little, too late, not with the way Verdugo has suffered a seemingly intractable slump going back to mid-June, and not with the Yankees’ top prospect waiting in the wings.
