Thousands of people headed to the Sunset Night Market on Friday - hungry for food and a great time.This was the event's second year.San Francisco Supervisor Joel Engardio said last year, they had a crowd of 10,000 people show up - which led to some changes."We didn't know what to expect, so it was a good problem to have. And we ran out of food and too many people showed up. So this year, we decided to double the length. Oakland police investigating death of person physically assaulted by several people
Authorities are looking for several people suspected of physically beating someone to death in Oakland.Police responded to a report of an unresponsive individual on the street around 8:45 a.m. Friday in the 800 block of Webster Street.When officers arrived, they provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. But the person died at the scene.Authorities initially thought the person had a medical emergency, but after further investigation, OPD says the person was physically assaulted by several people.The victim has not been identified.No arrests were made.Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at 238-7950.If you're on the ABC7 News app, click here to watch live
14-Year-Old Santa Rosa Student Arrested for Stabbing at Elsie Allen High School, Assault Believed to be Gang-Related
A violent altercation erupted at Elsie Allen High School, leading to a stabbing incident, which has now become the subject of a Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) investigation. This follows a 911 call from the school’s administration office at approximately 12:28 pm yesterday, as reported by the Santa Rosa Police Department's Facebook page. The situation unfolded when tensions between students escalated into a physical confrontation in the school's quad area, resulting in a 13-year-old male student being stabbed with a knife by a 14-year-old male counterpart. Two additional students joined the fray, kicking the armed assailant's head multiple times.
