Police say 'mental health crisis' led to SWAT standoff at Boardman home
A five hour long standoff in a usually quiet Boardman neighborhood was the result of a woman undergoing a mental health crisis, according to township police. Neighbors living along the 3900 block of Arden Boulevard called officers three separate times beginning Sunday afternoon, reporting that a woman was yelling at neighbors and hurling racial slurs at a young boy.

Youngstown Police say 131 shots were fired late Sunday on the city's South Side where an 18-year-old woman was killed. Another female, whose age and name are unknown and is still alive, was also shot and injured. The shooting took place around 11 p.m. near Glenwood Avenue and Sherwood Avenue.
Bishop Bonnar to bless new parish center in Niles
The Most Rev. David J. Bonnar, Bishop of Youngstown will bless the newly constructed parish center at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles.
