YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Youngstown man remains jailed on a $25,000 bond after appearing in court Tuesday. Michael Cobb, 67, was indicted on a charge of felonious assault. He was arrested in May and accused of stabbing another man at an apartment complex on the city’s East Side.

Youngstown Police have arrested a 17-year-old suspect following a homicide on the city's south side Tuesday night. Appeals court overturns man’s conviction in 2018 Youngstown murder case
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Seventh District Court of Appeals last week overturned a man’s 2022 murder conviction in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court. The court overturned convictions against Lavontae Knight, 28, who was convicted of the Dec. 30, 2018, killing of Trevice Harris, 37, and the wounding of his girlfriend.
Family of man killed in Youngstown gas explosion sues for negligence
The family of the man who was killed in a recent downtown explosion in Youngstown filed a lawsuit against the building owners for wrongful death and negligence. The man, Akil Drake, was the only person killed during the Realty Tower explosion on East Federal Street that occurred on May 28. The explosion occurred due to a cut gas line, according to the National Transportation Safety Bureau. Seven others were injured.
