Authorities identified a suspect Wednesday in the break-in at a Donald Trump campaign office in suburban Virginia.

Toby Shane Kessler, 39, is suspected of breaking into the office on Sunday evening, the Loudoun County Sherriff’s Office said.

Kessler, who has a criminal record and no known address, was not in custody, the office said in a statement. The sheriff has obtained an arrest warrant for burglary and is working with other agencies to find him.

The suspect is believed to have been in the Washington area since at least 2018 but has a California driver's license.

Kessler forced his way into the office through a back door of the office and spent a brief period inside before leaving, the sheriff's office said. It remained unclear if he took anything.

The building, in a suburban office park about 30 miles west of downtown Washington, also serves as the headquarters of the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee.

Kessler was arrested in April for loitering and fraud and impersonation in St. Augustine, Florida, according to court records . He was also arrested for loitering in Brevard County, Florida, in May 2019.

The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
