Nearly 20 members of the House are speaking at this week’s Democratic National Convention in Chicago, as the party seeks to highlight its efforts to flip control of the Republican-run chamber.

Halfway through the convention, viewers and attendees have already heard from several high-profile members of Congress, including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Jim Clyburn of South Carolina and Jamie Raskin of Maryland.

    But there’s more to come.

On Wednesday night, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York will take the stage, the Kamala Harris campaign confirmed exclusively to POLITICO, along with former Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California.

And the campaign confirmed first to POLITICO that other House Democrats speaking in the final two nights of the convention, include Rep. Suzan DelBene of Washington, chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee; Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar of California; Democratic Vice Chair Ted Lieu of California; Assistant Democratic Leader Joe Neguse of Colorado; and Reps. Veronica Escobar of Texas, Tom Suozzi of New York and Bennie Thompson of Mississippi.

House Democrats have seen a jolt in polling since Kamala Harris became the nominee, after months of lagging Republicans in competitive districts when President Joe Biden was at the top of the ticket. Harris’ ascension has triggered more outside resources for House battleground races, an eagerness from swing-district members to embrace Harris on the campaign trail and the sense by Democrats that they may have a shot, after all, of flipping the House.

A Harris campaign official granted anonymity to speak freely said Democrats this week will spotlight their efforts to expand the child tax credit and enshrine abortion and other reproductive rights, adding that their attempts to win the House “have been invigorated by the Harris-Walz ticket.”
